Our Parish - Parish Funds - Building Fund

In recognition of Saint Peter the Apostle who was renamed "Peter" (rock) by Jesus to indicate that Peter would be the rock-like foundation on which the Church would be built.

Jesus said, "Upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. On this strong foundation," he says, "I will build an everlasting temple. The great height of my Church, which is to penetrate the heavens, shall rise on the firm foundation of the faith."

PURPOSE AND USE:
The Building Fund was developed to respond to the constant upkeep and general maintenance of the Church buildings (i.e. Church, office area, Marian Chapel, Shepherd's Hall, Wilma Hall). The necessity of this fund was made evident when the need arose for roofing over Marian Chapel and Shepherd's Hall, as well as the new boiler in Wilma Hall. A special collection was made to help defray the enormous cost of these repairs.

CRITERIA:
The Building Fund will be used solely for the purpose of the maintenance and upkeep of church buildings. Any needs that may arise will be placed in an order of priority and finances available.
