The bells of St. Francis respectively weigh 3300, 1683 and 1000 pounds each. They ring at 12 noon and 6:00 p.m. and before Masses and other celebrations.  They were cast by a Dutch firm, in existence since the 17th century, and were hung on April 30, 1966. On June 8, 1966, they were blessed, along with the cornerstone of the church. They are named for Jesus, Mary and Joseph the Carpenter. In addition to these dedications each bell carries a different personal memory. One carries the words, “A Friend Eleanor,” another the names of Bishop Alan Babcock (who dedicated the church), Frs. Louis LaPres and Lawrence Dannemiller(pastor and associate, respectively, who served at St. Francis when this church was built), and the third the names of the parents and grandparents of Elliot Fletcher, who donated the bells. They were completely refurbished in May of 1996 with a bequest from Roman Pavlak.
