The choir, music ministry and organ console area are positioned so as to help lead the assembly in sung prayer. This area also includes a piano, handbells and other musical instruments.

The stained glass cross in the niche was designed and constructed by Richard E. Hanley and Mark S. Talaba, partners in Omnibus Glasscraft and Design of Okemos. Another Okemos craftsman, Richard White, built the walnut frame. It was unveiled during the Easter Vigil in 1976. More than 300 pieces of stained glass comprise the work and is a portrayal of Christ’s triumph over death. Three rays radiate from his exposed heart, the place from which love originates. The symbolic number 3, representing the Trinity, is carried out in three jewels placed at his heart and each hand and the shape of the cross and the dove that represents the Holy Spirit.
